KK's & surprising weight loss

KK's & surprising weight loss

As planned Lynne & I went to KK's Steel Mill, Wolverhampton last night which has been a frequent excellent venue for us with Blaze Bayley, Absolva & others. The journey to Wolverhampton was difficult - wind & rain of almost biblical proportions (OK, OK slight exaggeration), yet eased significantly by a welcome stop for dinner at the home of Steve Danger, drummer from Wolfsbane & his partner Philippa.

This time at KK's we were to see the mighty German power metalheads Primal Fear, with support from our friend Ronnie Romero. It proved to be a top performance from both bands. I know Ronnie's music quite well as I've toured with him - he was in fine form, & Primal Fear's music I know & remember from days gone by at Bloodstock. It was also pointed out to me that I had seen them at Stone Dead last year but after a few minutes gathering my thoughts last night, I realised I missed their Stone Dead set as I'd buried myself in the VIP area, somewhat inebriated. My only (lame) excuse is that I was not alone!

We bumped into a good few friends last night at KK's - Absolva fans, & had chance to catch up with Ronnie, his guitarist Jose, & of course the Steel Mill man himself - KK.

Turning to the health front, the walking & Achilles issues were less than expected. I did the lion's share of the driving & survived intact. The main problem was the venue floor - the Achilles reacts badly to a hard surface, not so kind as the carpet at home of course. The concrete floor at the venue was unforgiving (OK, I know it's an ex-steel mill so what should I expect!). However, all-in-all a well worthwhile trip & encouraging for future jaunts.

On the weight front I need not have been worried as this morning I recorded a very surprising 112.8kg, down by 0.8kg on the day, & down by 1.2kg so far (about 3 pounds I believe). At least encouraging.

Thanks everyone. Here's a few pics from the show...
